Text

“Gudeman’s project seems to be moving along encouragingly, but its real test will come in October. I hear from him at least once a month about it, and sometimes oftener, long repetitious post cards which show a curious sort of fanaticism about getting the thing in print. Possibly he feels he may die one of these days, or be drawn out of Nazidom, and wishes to see this Benjamin of his behold the light while yet it is called the day.”
